Evil Eye Granny Square Free Crochet Blanket Pattern
Follow this free Evil Eye granny square crochet pattern and learn how to make this unique blanket. Perfect for all of you evil eye lovers out there!
Materials:
Yarn: Medium (4) Weight Yarn: I Love This Yarn from hobby lobby was used for this pattern. Two skeins of Turquoise, Royal and Sungold were used and one of White and Black.

MC: Magic Circle
CH: Chain
SC: Single Crochet
HDC: Half Double Crochet
DC: Double Crochet

Notes:
The beginning chain stitches are always counted as a stitch.
You may set these crochet squares on a blocking board, but is not necessary.
Complete 35 blocks to make a small blanket:
18 with Turquoise center
8 with Royal Center
9 with Sungold center

Round 1 (All blocks start with Black yarn)
- Start with a MC
- CH 2 (counts as 1 DC)
- 14 DC into MC (15 total including CH 2)
- SS into top of CH 2
- Fasten off
Round 2 (Change to second color yarn)
- Attach yarn into top of any DC
- CH3 (counts as DC) + DC into same stitch
- 2DC into each remaining stitch ( 30 total DC including beginning CH3)
- SS into top of beginning CH 3
Round 3 (Continue with same color yarn)
- CH3 (counts as DC)
- 2 DC into next stitch
- *DC into next stitch + 2DC into next stitch (repeat from * until end of round, 45 DC total, including beginning CH3)
- SS into top of beginning CH3
- Fasten off
Round 4 (Change to White yarn)
- CH3 into any stitch (counts as DC)
- DC in next stitch
- 2DC in next stitch
- *DC in next 2 stitches + 2DC in next stitch (repeat from * until end of round, 60 DC total including beginning CH3)
Round 5 ( Change to next color yarn)
- CH4 into any stitch (counts as TR)
- 2TR into same stitch (3TR total with beginning CH4, this counts as half of your first corner)
- *Skip 2 stitches + 3DC into stitch
- Skip 2 stitches + 3HDC into stitch
- Skip 2 stitches + 3HDC into stitch
- Skip 2 stitches + 3DC into stitch
- Skip 2 stitches + 3TR + CH2 + 3TC into stitch (Corner)
- Repeat from * until end of round, finish with 3TR + CH2 into beginning stitch)
- SS into top of beginning CH space
Round 6 (Use same color Yarn as round 5)
- SC back into CH2 space + CH2 (counts as DC)
- 2DC into same CH space (This completes half of your first corner)
- 3DC in next space between 3TR and 3DC
- 3DC in next space between 3DC and 3HDC
- Continue placing 3DC between each set of stitches along each side, remembering to place 3DC + CH + 3DC in each corner space
- 3DC + CH in the same space as beginning corner
- SS into top of CH space
- Fasten off
Round 7 (Change to final color yarn)
- Attach yarn into any corner space
- 3SC + CH2 + 3SC into same corner space
- CH1
- *3SC (into next space between 3DC) + CH1
- repeat from * along all four sides making sure to place 3SC + CH2 + 3SC into each corner
- SS into top of first SC to complete block
- CH1 and fasten off
- Make sure to crochet one complete block, each block after you will use the join as you go method to attach each block for an easy join.
Join As You Go (joining method)
- Repeat one side of Round 7 stopping when you get to your second corner
- 3SC + CH1 into corner space
- SS into any corner of previous compete block
- 3SC into same corner space
- SS in next CH1 space from previous complete block
- 3SC into next space
- Repeat this pattern for the side of the block you are joining to your previous block
- After joining your second corner to you previous complete block, continue working along the rest of the sides with 3SC + CH1 and placing 3SC + CH2 + 3SC into each corner space
- Finish by SS into top of first SC of this round.
