Crochet Football Keychain Free Pattern

Materials:

• G 4mm crochet hook
• Brown & White worsted weight yarn size 4 medium bulky (I used "I Love This Yarn")
• Keychain accessory
• Fiberfill
• Scissors
• Tapestry Needle
• Stitch Marker

Size:

Final measurements for this football are 4" by 2" (Metal keychain will add another 1-2 inches)

Notes:

This pattern is crocheted in a continuous round, you will not be joining each round.

I like to start this pattern with a magic circle. If you are more comfortable starting with a CH 3 (then SS into first chain to create a small circle) please feel free to do so.

Single Crochet Increase: Work 2 SC into the same stitch

Single Crochet Decrease: Insert hook into the front loop of the next stitch. Yarn over and pull up a loop. Insert hook into front loop of next stitch. Yarn over and pull up another loop. Now, yarn over and pull through all 3 loops on your hook.

Change yarn color: Change to next color of yarn when working last single crochet of round (this change will be specified in parentheses.) On last SC, insert hook into stitch pull up a loop, now yarn over with new color of yarn and pull the new color through both loops on your hook. Gently pull both tails of yarn to tighten join. Now continue crocheting with new color.

Final stitch count for each round is noted by the number stated in parentheses at the end of each round

Crochet Football Keychain Pattern:

With brown yarn:

Round 1: 6SC into MC (6)

Round 2: INC in each stitch (12)

Round 3: 1SC in each stitch (12) change to white yarn on last SC of row

Round 4: (1SC + INC) repeat 6x (18)

Round 5: 1SC in each stitch (18) change to brown

Round 6: (1SC in next 2 stitches + INC) repeat 6x (24)

Round 7-14: 1SC in each stitch (24) (192 total stitches) change to white

     start stuffing football & continue stuffing as you go

Round 15: (1SC in next 2 + DEC) 6x (18)

Round 16: 1SC in each stitch (18) change to brown

Round 17: (1SC + DEC) 6x (12)

Round 18: 1SC each stitch (12)

Round 19: DEC 6x fasten off, sew hole closed
